One of the most difficult things in our culture today is the issue of discipline. We always see it as punitive and so we struggle to receive it as much as we struggle to practice it. And yet, the Scriptures (while not necessarily promoting a certain method of discipline) are unashamedly "pro-discipline." It's one of the primary ways God teaches us to "live by faith."
